How learning works
in Pasaa
Every lesson is built from exercises that match exactly how your brain stores a new language. Scientifically grounded, and actually fun.
Exercise types
Five exercises that make Thai stick
Passive reading doesn't work for Thai. The exercises mix listening, reading and speaking — and each one asks you to recall something, not just recognise it.

Tone recognition
You hear a word and pick the correct tone: mid, low, falling, high or rising. This trains your ear for Thai's 5 tones.

Pronunciation exercise
Say the word out loud, then record three seconds if you like: your pitch line appears over the five tone shapes. You rate yourself.

Vocabulary
Choose the right word or translation from four options. Each question repeats at the perfect moment thanks to the FSRS algorithm.

Fill in the blank
Complete a Thai sentence with the right word from a word bank. Word order and patterns sink in while you do it.

Situation check
Decide whether a Thai sentence fits the situation it is used in — the same judgement you make in a real conversation.

AI conversation partner Coming soon
Planned, not built yet: a short conversation in Thai with an AI that adapts to your level. The AI in Pasaa today is the lesson coach, which answers questions about the lesson step you are on.

XP & daily streak
Every finished step earns XP, so a half-finished lesson still counts. Practise on consecutive days to build your streak — miss a day and it resets, unless a streak freeze covers it.
