Lesson 4 · Writing

Your first Thai letter.

ก (gaaw gai) opens the Thai alphabet. Start at the little head, then one stroke up over the shoulder and straight down to the line.

This is practice, not a test. What you are learning is the order the strokes go in — the thing that makes Thai handwriting readable to a Thai reader.

Write it yourself

Follow the line with your finger or your mouse: start at the dot, finish at the arrow. Thai letters are written in a fixed order, and that order is what you are practising here.

Stroke 1 of 2

Start at the dot and follow the line.

This measures how close your trace stayed to the line and whether you drew the strokes in order. Pasaa does not read handwriting.
